About this tool
Enter a width and height to get the simplified ratio, the orientation and the pixel count. Pick a preset to snap the height to a common ratio, or use the reverse calculator to get the missing side from a ratio and one dimension.
Questions & answers
- How is the ratio simplified?
- By dividing both sides by their greatest common divisor. 1536 × 1024 share a divisor of 512, which gives 3:2.
- Why do image models want particular ratios?
- They are trained at a set of resolutions, so a ratio close to one of those usually composes better. The exact list depends on the model.
- Why is my ratio an odd pair of numbers?
- Because the dimensions have no common factor. 1000 × 667 simplifies to 1000:667, which is very close to 3:2 but not exactly it.
