About this tool

- What is the difference between an exact and an estimated token count?
- An exact count uses a tokenizer compatible with the selected model. An estimated count uses language-aware text ratios and may differ from the provider's actual billing or context count.
- Is my text sent to an AI provider?
- No. Counting runs in your browser, and the text is not submitted to the selected provider.
- Why is the remaining context shown as unknown?
- The selected model has no verified context-window value in the local registry. The text can still be counted, but remaining capacity cannot be calculated reliably.
