Algorithm Visualizer (AlgoViz)

AlgoViz animates algorithms and physical models in your browser. Explore sorting, graphs, probability and more, or change physical parameters and observe how a simulation responds.

What is AlgoViz?

A collection of algorithm visualizations and educational physics simulations, available in English, Japanese, Spanish, Chinese and German. Physical models state their assumptions and limits.

How does it work?

Select a topic, adjust parameters and use play/pause, step and reset. Discrete algorithms show a step counter and complexity; physical models show time, relevant measurements and model explanations.

When should I use it?

Use AlgoViz when learning or teaching how an algorithm behaves step by step — for example, comparing Quick Sort vs. Merge Sort, watching Dijkstra explore a graph, or seeing K-Means cluster points. It is built for study, classroom demos, and interview prep rather than running algorithms on your own production data.

PlaybackYes. Use play/pause, manual steps, reset and speed controls. Discrete algorithm steps and continuous physical time are displayed according to the model.
ModelsAlgorithm pages explain complexity and pseudocode where applicable. Physics pages explain the model, parameters and limitations instead.

Frequently asked questions

Which physics topics can I explore?

Alongside oscillations, waves and gravity, explore smoke, branching lightning, buoyancy, bubbling raisins, hydrostatic pressure, capillary rise, stick-slip motion, the Magnus effect, an inverted pendulum, snow deposition, Foucault precession and fog scattering.

What languages is AlgoViz available in?

Five languages: English, Japanese, Spanish, simplified Chinese and German. Use the common language menu; the URL identifies the selected language.

Can I control the animation speed and step through manually?

Yes. Use play/pause, manual steps, reset and speed controls. Discrete algorithm steps and continuous physical time are displayed according to the model.

Does AlgoViz show time and space complexity?

Algorithm pages explain complexity and pseudocode where applicable. Physics pages explain the model, parameters and limitations instead.

Does AlgoViz need an account or a server?

No. It is a free, fully static React app that runs entirely in your browser — no account, no login, and no server-side processing required.
