Base64 Encoder / Decoder
Convert text to Base64 and back, including the URL-safe variant.

About this tool
Encode text to Base64 or decode it back, with correct UTF-8 handling so accented and CJK characters survive the round trip. A URL-safe option swaps the + and / characters and drops the padding for use in query strings.
Questions & answers
- Is Base64 encryption?
- No. It is a reversible encoding that anyone can decode. Never use it to protect a secret.
- What does URL-safe mean?
- The + and / characters are replaced with - and _ and the trailing = padding is dropped, so the value can sit in a URL without escaping.
- Does this tool send my data to a server?
- Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded.
