About this tool
Paste Markdown and get LaTeX: headings become sectioning commands, lists become itemize or enumerate, tables become booktabs tabulars and fenced code becomes verbatim. Reserved characters in prose are escaped, while inline and display math pass through untouched so a formula is never double-escaped.
Questions & answers
- Will my equations be escaped?
- No. Math spans written as $…$, $$…$$, \(…\) or \[…\] are copied through verbatim; only the prose around them is escaped.
- What does full document mode add?
- A \documentclass preamble with the packages the output relies on (amsmath, booktabs, hyperref, ulem), plus \begin{document} and \end{document}, and \maketitle when you give a title.
- Which Markdown is supported?
- Headings, paragraphs, emphasis, lists, links, images, inline and fenced code, blockquotes, tables and horizontal rules. Reference-style links and raw HTML are not converted.
