QR Code Generator
Turn a link, Wi-Fi network, contact card or message into a QR code and download it as PNG or SVG. Generated in your browser, never uploaded.
Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded.
About this tool
Type a link or pick a payload kind — Wi-Fi, contact card, email, SMS or phone — and the code is drawn as you type. Structured payloads are escaped properly, so a Wi-Fi password containing a semicolon still produces a network your phone will join. Download as PNG at any module size or as SVG for print. Nothing leaves your browser: the encoder runs here, unlike QR-as-a-service sites which see every password and contact card you put through them.
Questions & answers
- How do I make a QR code for my Wi-Fi?
- Choose "Wi-Fi network", enter the network name and password, and pick the security type. Guests scan the code and their phone offers to join, with no password typed by hand. Characters like semicolons and commas in the password are escaped for you.
- Which error correction level should I choose?
- M is the sensible default. Higher levels let the code still be read when part of it is dirty, faded or covered, but they pack more modules into the same area, so the code needs to be printed larger. Use H only for codes that will be printed on something that gets handled.
- PNG or SVG?
- SVG for anything printed — it stays sharp at any size. PNG for the web and for tools that will not take a vector file. The module size setting applies to both downloads, not to the preview.
- Is my data sent anywhere?
- No. The encoder runs in this tab and nothing you type is uploaded. That is the point of using this rather than a site that generates the image on its server, where every Wi-Fi password and contact card would be visible to the operator.
- Why is there a white border I cannot remove?
- It is the quiet zone the QR specification requires — four modules of clear space on every side. Scanners use it to tell where the code ends, so cropping it is the most common reason a printed code stops working.
