Questions & answers
- What is the difference between the escaped body and the JSON string literal?
- The body omits the surrounding double quotes. The complete literal includes them and can be pasted directly where a JSON string value is expected.
- Which characters are escaped?
- JSON-required characters such as quotes, backslashes, newlines, tabs, and control characters are escaped. Other Unicode characters remain intact.
- Can Unescape decode a complete JSON string literal?
- Yes. It accepts either an escaped body or one complete quoted JSON string and rejects malformed escape sequences.
